Double Cleanse with Erase and Renew by Pestle and Mortar

I discovered Pestle and Mortar during the summer when I was working on a shoot. It is an Irish, family made and run company (yay!). I don't claim to be a Beauty Specialist, but I am someone who is obsessed with skincare and finding products that really work for me, and will share those that I believe in and use myself.

Pestle and Mortar have a new addition to the family, say hello to Erase and Renew. This is a Double Cleansing System, It comes in a beautiful package containing "Erase" a makeup removing balm,"Renew" a lightweight Gel Cleanser, and double cleanse facecloth. Now for the science bit .....

What is Double Cleansing and should I be doing it?

In short yes, Double cleansing is simply put, cleansing your skin twice. To get the most out of your skincare products a deep cleanse is key. This will not only ensure that you get the most benefit and effect from your skincare products but I found it also helps with how your makeup sits on your skin, much better in my opinion.

What does it involve?

It sound like a time consuming process this double cleansing business but its really quite simple. Like any skincare routine you have got to be consistent with it to really see the results. The first step is Erase, you scoop a small amount into your hands and rub together before massaging onto dry skin, leaving the eye area until last. Then you remove using the muslin side of your warm damp facecloth which is included. The second step is Renew, apply one pump to dry skin and massage gently over face and neck using upward strokes. Now wet the soft side of your facecloth with warm water, ring out and remove. You can use Renew at night and again in the morning for best results.

How has it worked for me?

I can honestly say I am converted. My skin feels so much fresher and brighter. Its amazing the amount of grime that comes off your skin after the second cleanse and just shows how much grime is still on your skin when you think you have cleansed it thoroughly. The product is on sale the first week in December and would make a great Christmas present for yourself or a friend!
